School Description/Info

Derby High School is a public school serving students in grades 9 through 12, located on Nutmeg Avenue in Derby, Conn. Greg Gaillard is Derby High’s principal, while Joe Orazietti is the school’s athletic director.

According to a statement on the school’s website, Derby High School pursues academic achievement, promotes creative and critical thinking, expects appropriate behavior, and fosters responsible citizenship. The ABC’s of Derby High’s mission statement include: Academic – achievement through creative and critical thinking; Behavior – that is appropriate, respectful and positive; and Citizenship – that is responsible in order to foster a better community.”

Athletics Programs

Derby High School offers students the opportunity to participate in a number of NVL sports. The Red Raiders’ teams host league contests at the high school as well as the Ryan Sports Complex and the Amendola Sports Complex. Seasonal schedules for Derby teams below (taken from the CIAC site) reflect games for all levels of each individual sport, including any varsity, JV and freshman contests.
